The USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has announced the release of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Farm to School Grant Program Request for Applications (RFA). This grant program is designed to increase the availability of local foods in Child Nutrition Program (CNP) operations and connect students to the sources of their food through education, taste tests, school gardens, field trips, and local food sourcing for CNP meals. Grants can be used to launch new farm to CNP1 programs or expand existing efforts.
State agencies, Child Nutrition Program operators, local agencies, agricultural producers, groups of agricultural producers, and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply.
Applications will be accepted through December 5, 2025, for up to a total of $18 million in competitive grants. Please note that for FY26 Farm to School grants, the minimum grant request will be $100,000.
Please let us know if you decide to apply for this federal funding opportunity. You can request a letter of support from Sen. Booker here.
All the best,
