SEEKING PARTICIPANTS: Interview Study on NJ Urban Ag (Paid)
Seeking City Officials, Nonprofit or Community Organization Leaders, and Urban/Peri-Urban Farmers or Community Garden Organizers involved in urban or peri-urban agriculture (UPA) in NJ. The NASA-funded study builds on existing research and explores how urban or peri-urban agriculture operates across NJ municipalities, the policies shaping it, and its role in food access and community engagement.

2026 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) applications open through May 14.
New Jersey Department of Agriculture (NJDA) has opened the application period for the 2026 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP). Applicants may request up to $40,000 in grant funding. Project proposals are due on or before May 14th, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST. Info Session on Tuesday, April 28th at 10:00 am.

Rutgers community garden service project supports fresh produce access in New Brunswick
Over Spring Break, Rutgers students and faculty from the RU Engaged project installed 6 new raised garden beds at Unity Square’s community garden on Suydam Street, helping expand access to fresh, healthy produce for New Brunswick residents.
